In the summer of 2011, I joined the OTC Group as Creative Marketing Director and Lead Designer. The founders and core team at OTC had been hard at work and had developed some great technology over the years. When I joined the team, there were a series of projects on the table but the first was an exciting piece of multichannel technology that was at the forefront of dynamic mobile marketing, combining the power of NFC tech, QR Codes, form creation and data capture, and dynamic mobile sites – just to touch the surface. The application they had in mind for the technology prior to my arrival was smart, but the technology had much more potential and after some discussion and brain storming, it was decided that we would develop the product for a larger, more business, mass market.
I was asked to help give the product life from the ground up. This meant creating the brand and identity, developing and packaging the software into a product for business and commercial use, designing the user experience, and developing a marketing plan and strategy. I was essentially given free reign for the creation of the brand and after much market research and creative brainstorming, BlinkCapture was born.
